  21. I doubt you'll see a 33600 option on Win95 detect.  A compuserve
  22. support person from USR mentioned in a forum message a couple months
  23. ago that (gosh) the Sportster 33600 device after installing the new
  24. inf file actually still appears as Sportster 28800.  Selecting the
  25. 28800 will give you the 33600 functionality.  Your message did not say
  26. whether you succeeded in Win95 actually detecting your modem after
  27. putting the new .inf in.  Try checking Diagnostics-More Information
  28. under Control Panel - Modem when you are not using your modem and see
  29. what it sez.  I just received and swapped out the old chip from an
  30. External 28.8 last night with the upgrade which I ordered last October
  31. (!)  I don't see much change in the rate of hitting a 28.8 connect
  32. through my Internet service provider.  Unless the modem on the other
  33. end of your connection supports more than 28.8, you shouldn't connect
  34. any faster than that.  Cheers
