- I doubt you'll see a 33600 option on Win95 detect. A compuserve
- support person from USR mentioned in a forum message a couple months
- ago that (gosh) the Sportster 33600 device after installing the new
- inf file actually still appears as Sportster 28800. Selecting the
- 28800 will give you the 33600 functionality. Your message did not say
- whether you succeeded in Win95 actually detecting your modem after
- putting the new .inf in. Try checking Diagnostics-More Information
- under Control Panel - Modem when you are not using your modem and see
- what it sez. I just received and swapped out the old chip from an
- External 28.8 last night with the upgrade which I ordered last October
- (!) I don't see much change in the rate of hitting a 28.8 connect
- through my Internet service provider. Unless the modem on the other
- end of your connection supports more than 28.8, you shouldn't connect
- any faster than that. Cheers
